Cheshire Paper Shred Event Raises $1,500!
Throughout the morning on April 5th, we had a steady flow of traffic as community residents and organizations drove in, dropped off their papers, and drove off, with smiles and expressions of support for our residents! Shredding was conducted on the spot in our parking lot, by Security Shredding of Morris Plains. We raised $1,500, which will be dedicated to the specialized training and education programs that enable our residents to overcome paralysis, and gain self-sufficiency.
During the past two years fifteen residents achieved independent living. Many of our "graduates" leave Cheshire Home with college diplomas and a foundation of employment experience, and this is made possible through the generosity of our donors and event participants.
We're very grateful to all who shredded their papers for Cheshire, and we plan to hold this event the first Saturday in April each year, so mark your calendars, pile those papers up, and bring them on down to our parking lot!
