Decking the Halls with the DHS and Commission for the Blind!

Posted Tue, Dec 19th, 2017 By Cheshire Home

Luz and Volunteer

Cheshire Home staff and residents marked the official week of Christmas with a holiday party hosted by the Department of Human Services and sponsored by the Commission for the Blind on Monday!

All who attended were treated to a pizza party, delicious cupcakes and a tabled filled with sweet treats galore. Along with lunch and dessert, a fun raffle with lots of festive prizes (candy canes, chocolates and more) was enjoyed by all.

Our gracious volunteers took to the halls to spread Christmas cheer to those who were unable to attend the party. Christmas carols were sung throughout Cheshire Home, and concluded back in our dining room with a sing-along that got everyone in the holiday spirit!

The New Jersey Commission for the Blind’s mission is to promote and provide services in the areas of education, employment, independent living and eye health through informed choice and partnership with persons who are blind or vision impaired, their families and the community. The New Jersey Department of Human Services programs and services are designed to give eligible individuals and families the help they need to find permanent solutions to a myriad of life challenges. Thank you to both the Department of Human Services and Commission of the Blind for your generosity and bringing good cheer, during this special time of year, to our Cheshire Home family! It’s moments like this that make our facility a home.

Happy Holidays!
