Madison High Basketball Team Dedicated Day to Cheshire Home!
On Friday, May 29th, Madison High School held its Annual Day of Service, and the student body went out into the community to volunteer at area non-profits. Once again, the Boys Basketball Team, supervised by Coaches Steve Hughes and Mike Radzieski, helped us beautify our property as summer gets ready to roll in. They planted flowers all along our front border, helped resident Alice Papa prepare her exotic vegetable garden, cleared our front island of deep-rooted bushes no longer thriving, and wrapped silverware for our Dietary Department.
Program Coordinator Ms. Marcia Prill plans for this wonderful "Giving Back" event throughout the school year, as organizations submit their projects, and students review proposals, and form volunteer teams based on the assiagnments they'd like to complete. When the day finally arrives, students go out throughout Morris County to community service organizations, and offer their hard work.
In addition to Cheshire Home, students have volunteered at Brighton Gardens, Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey, the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge, the CAS gym, among many others!
We always enjoy welcoming Coaches Steve and Mike, the team, and also volunteer Katie, who contributed quite a bit throughout the day! Once again, thank you to all - you put a bunch of smiles on faces here at Cheshire Home.
