Madison High Basketball Team Volunteers at Cheshire Home!
On Friday, May 20th, Madison High School held its Annual Service Learning Day, and students dedicated a day of volunteerism to schools and organizations throughout the community. The Boys' Basketball Team continued their yearly tradition of not only selecting Cheshire as their recipient, but also of digging in and doing our "summer gardening" - planting flowers along our property, clearing our center island and also planting shrubbery on the island.
By day's end, our Home was brightened, our property was beautified, and our borders were enhanced with many shades of flowers. We are now ready to celebrate the return of summer, and we thank Coach Hughes and his student athletes for their hard work.
During the 2016 Service Learning Day, Madison High School students volunteered at 53 organizations and schools, including the Madison YMCA, St,. Hubert's, the Madison Community House, the Seeing Eye Agency, Foster Fields, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, and the Kirby Children's Center.
We are very grateful to be included in this wonderful project, and we commend the faculty and students of Madison High for the many ways they give back to their community.
