Salvatore Minardi Salon and Poor Herbie's Restaurant Raise Funds for Cheshire Home!
Two area businesses, the Salvatore Minardi Salon and Poor Herbie's Restaurant, recently hosted fund raisers to support our residents!
On Bottle Hill Day in Madison, September 27th, the Salvatore Minardi Salon held a Hair Cut-A-Thon for Cheshire Home. Setting up a tent early in the morning on Waverly Street, stylists began cutting hair at 9:00 a.m. and welcomed clients in throughout the day, Each client received the royal treatment, and after being pampered and treated with a new, wonderful look, they each left with a a gift bag of select beauty products! The event catered to ladies and gents, and girls and boys of all ages.
On October 21st, also on Waverly Street, Poor Herbie's Restuarant hosted our 4th Annual "Happy Hour", with the fun extending into a 6:00 - 9:00 pm event. The Mullins family, along with restaurant manager Maureen Holly and bartender Bob Snyder, opened their doors to our guests, as we raffled off prizes, and outbid each other on auction items. The winners took home prizes including NY Jets and Giants memorabilia, a wonderful TD Bank gift basket, and "Taste of Italy" baskets of wine. Bartenders donated their tips throughout the evening, and the staff of Poor Herbie's also donated a percentage of the evening's sales.
A good time was had by all at both events, and close to $3,000 was raised. The funds will be dedicated to our unique training and education programs!
