The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Donate to Cheshire Home
On Thursday evening, January 9th at the Kellogg Club in Morristown, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick presented $1,000 donations to support the work of area charitable organizations. Cheshire Home was a recipient, and accepted the contribution in memory of the late Joan Rooney, who served as our Clinical Coordinator for 18 years. The donation will be dedicated to the specialized training and education programs of our Community Resource Center, and will enable our residents to work toward independence.
The Sons' generosity, spirit and humor passed through the crowd all evening, as the event was emceed with much humor and spirit by President Timothy Brunnock. Dinner was served, bagpipes played, and one by one representatives from recipient organizations rose to briefly tell of the good works that would be supported. In addition to Cheshire Home, charities who received Friendly Sons donations are: Project Children, Special Olympics, Assumption Parish Youth Ministry, Employment Horizons, Morristown High School's Project Graduation, Hug Wraps, the Anne Hennessy Scholarship Fund/Irish Life Experience, and the Leukemia/Lumphona Society.
