Cheshire Home Has A Very Special Visitor!

Maureen Coultas, Director of Hope's Promise in Chester, recently shared her very special therapy horse Michaelangelo with us. Michaelangelo is a 1-year old miniature horse who began offering therapy at the young age of 5 months. He travels regularly to health care facilities and nursing homes, bringing comfort and happiness as people hug him, pet him, and overall just want to be close to him.

During her presentation Maureen let us know that we were all free to pet Michaelangelo as he is a very gentle, kind guy, and we quickly got to appreciate that for ourselves. As he visited residents' rooms and then spent close to an hour with a group of residents and staff in our living room, Michaelangelo patiently went from person to person, just being there for everyone. Throughout this time, "Oh, he's so cute!" seemed to be on the tip of everyone's tongue as we did indeed pet and hug. We were very glad to have this opportunity, and we thank Maureen for extending Michaelangelo's spirit to us.
