Transportation

Our fleet of vans are fully formatted for accessibility.

When residents “graduate” from Cheshire Home, transportation and move-in services are provided.

Cheshire Home operates a fleet of vehicles specially equipped for manual and over-sized power wheelchairs. Our drivers, trained in securing wheelchair-users for travel, provide transportation to residents, Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility as needs arise. Service animals and portable oxygen devices are permitted on our vehicles. Our transportation formats are fully accessible.

While medical transport is of the highest priority, our transportation service also represents independence. Prior to COVID, having available transportation enabled residents to work, access higher education, socialize, and conduct the business of their daily lives, completing everyday chores such as banking and shopping. Additionally, our Recreation Department offers group trips to locales throughout New Jersey, with full transportation included. An active calendar, including indoor events, will resume once permitted by the state.

Our transportation services give residents the opportunity to travel by choice and maintain active lifestyles as they rehabilitate and work towards independence. Cheshire Home is committed to providing the highest level of service and ensuring that no person is excluded or denied the benefits of our services based on race, color, or national origin as protected by Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Any Cheshire Home resident who has a concern or believes they have been subjected to poor service, or to discrimination may file a complaint orally to the Director of

Transportation, Mandy Hecht, at 973-966-1232 ext. 219 or in writing to: Mandy Hecht, Director of Transportation, Cheshire Home, 9 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park, NJ 07932.
